Reflections of Her Journey
Felix Mae St. James (nee: Wilson) was born November 5, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the union of Coleman Sr. and Celeste Wilson. She was the sixth child of nine born to this union. She was lovingly named after her maternal uncle, Felix Franks. She was preceded in death by both parents, Coleman Sr. and Celeste Wilson (nee: Franks), two sisters, Martha Wilson and Annie Woolfork, and two brothers, Willie Wilson and Coleman Wilson Jr.
Felix was educated in the St. Louis Public Schools and was a 1976 graduate of Vashon High School. She was the first in her family to attend a 4-year college and was a 1980 graduate of Mount Holyoke College.
Felix professed her faith at an early age at Union Sinai Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a dedicated and faithful worker of the United States Postal Service as an LSM Clerk and AFSM Clerk for over 30 years, retiring in November 2019.
On August 7, 1982, Felix married Clifton St. James, and to this union, two daughters were born, Erica Lynn and Lisa Danielle.
Felix will be fondly remembered for her love and dedication to her family, her collection of snow globes, shot glasses, magnets, and anything Felix the Cat.
Felix departed her earthly home on November 12, 2025, after a kiss and hug from her grandbabies before leaving for school, and was surrounded by love in Kansas City, Missouri.
