NORFOLK - John Andrew "Jack" Eurto, 93, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born on July 9, 1932, Jack grew up in the Norfolk, New York area and attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 - 1955. On June 12, 1954, he married Carol Elizabeth Catura of St. Regis Falls, New York. Carol predeceased him on August 13, 1995. On December 23, 1997, Jack married Arloween Dashnaw Eurto, who survives him.
Jack spent his career with Barretts Corporation in Norwood, New York, where he worked for many years until his retirement in 1995.
Jack and Carol raised four children: Ellen Eurto Torabi (Hamid), Ralph Eurto, Geri Eurto Kentner Rausch (Tom), and Wendy Binkley, (Rick).
He was a proud grandfather to Scott Kentner and Lisa Kentner Adams, Ali Torabi, Mina Torabi Martin, Ralph Eurto Jr., Meagan Eurto, Jessica Eurto, and Cody Eurto, Denise Baxter Baker, and great-grandfather to eighteen.
In addition, he was stepfather to Candy (Phillip) McGhee, Tina (Carl) Mattingly, and Danny Roberts.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Gertrude (Hatch) Eurto, his sister, Wilma Eurto Rivera; brothers, Gerald and Robert Eurto; a son-in-law, Richard Kentner, a daughter-in-law, Tina Eurto; niece, Wendy Binkley, and his wife of 41 years, Carol Catura Eurto.
Jack was known for his kind heart and willingness to help anyone in need. Family and friends could always count on him — he was the first to lend a hand, often before being asked.
An avid outdoorsman, Jack enjoyed fishing in his younger years and was passionate about hunting. His free time included favorite visits to hunting camp with the guys.
With trips to Colorado with his son Ralph and son-in-law Rick Kentner, hunting elk in the Rockies, meeting his brother-in-law John Catura and nephews Mike and Matt for these memorable adventures.
In the spring and summer months, after retirement, Jack could be found tending to his beloved vegetable garden, taking great pride in the bounty it produced. He will be remembered for the twinkle in his eye, the ready smile on his face, and the quiet strength and generosity that defined his life.
Celebration of Life and burial at Church of the Visitation Cemetery, Norfolk, at a later date.
