Linda Riley Saunders, age 70, of Elizabeth City, NC, died at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center on November 12, 2025. She was born in Mountain Grove, MO, on March 19, 1955, to the late Junior Riley and Ernestine Stevenson, and was the wife of 45 years to Miles Saunders. Linda was a devoted wife, sister, and friend. Her life was marked by her love for family, which she held close to her heart throughout her years. A savvy lady known for her warmth and kindness, Linda brought joy to all who knew her. Professionally, Linda served as an assistant manager at the Shell Station in Elizabeth City, where she demonstrated unwavering dedication and commitment. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent and reliable team member.
In her leisure time, Linda found great joy in word puzzles and game shows, often impressing others with her quick wit and problem-solving skills. She also had a passion for crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that were treasured by many.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Miles; her sister, Kim Stevenson; her brother, James Riley; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members, who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will hold a private service to honor Linda's life.
