Ronald G. Frostick, 67, of Kingwood Township, died Saturday, May 24, 2008, while competing at the Appalachian Gun Dog Brace Trials in Elk County, Pennsylvania. He was an operating engineer with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 825, Springfield, New Jersey for forty years, retiring in 2000. In addition to being a lead engineer of the local for many years, he served as the Good and Welfare Chairman of Hunterdon County and served on the nominating committee at the training center. Born September 28, 1940 in Somerville, NJ, he was the son of the late George and Violet Shaffer Frostick. Ronald graduated from Somerville High School, where he played baseball. While in little league baseball, he was noted for having pitched 3 no-hitters. He was a member of the Central Jersey Beagle Club, where he once served as a field trial chairman. He was a long-time active member of the Traditional Brace and Appalachian Gun Dog Brace Trials. He was a well respected AKC judge in both formats. He was a competitive skeet shooter and with a high score of 398, he won the New Jersey State Skeet Shooting Championship in 2000, which held for several years. Ronald and his wife, the former Anita J. Lazarek observed their thirty-second wedding anniversary February 28th. In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by a son, Stephen of Crossville, TN; two daughters, Karen M. Miller and her husband John A. of Sandyston, NJ and Janet M. “Cricket” Frostick of Dingman’s Ferry, PA; a sister, Georgiana Frostick of Somerville, NJ and two grandchildren, Abbey and Tess Miller. A sister, Eleanor Frostick died earlier. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church, 1005 Country Road 519, Baptistown, NJ. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 Tuesday and Wednesday in the Robert L. Ford Funeral Home, 38 Route 31, Flemington, NJ. Burial will be in The New Cemetery, Somerville, NJ.
