Peter Lawrence Dobberstein, age 66 passed away September 28, 2025. He is survived by his Daughter, Jacalyn Dobberstein, former wife of 29 years, Theresa Dobberstein, sisters Pam Stella, Margaret Westlove, Mary (George) McCormick, brothers Scott Dobberstein, Donald (Jennifer) Dobberstein, Joseph Dobberstein, and brother-in-law Glen Sorgatz (Helga Liller). Loving uncle to Ken Dobberstein, Ben Dobberstein (Angieszka), Gina (Jake) Schneider, Peter (Michelle Fabing) Sorgatz, Andrew (Amy Gilman) Sorgatz, Hannah (Brett) Jensen, Emily Westlove (Jacob Jones), Carly (Crill) Warner. Great uncle to several children. Peter is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence “Larry” and Marie Dobberstein, sister Paula Sorgatz, grandparents, uncles and aunts.

Peter graduated from Naperville Central High School in 1976 and retired from the Naperville Post office after 40 years.

He was an associate member of VFW Post 4031 in Naperville, IL, an active member of NALC (National Association of letter carriers and a union member of the USPS in Naperville. Peter will be remembered for being a skilled craftsman and handyman, and his love of watching sports on TV, especially golf and Nascar. He was a skilled golfer who enjoyed golfing with his friends and was always ready to lend a hand to help his friends and family.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Naperville VFW, 908 Jackson Avenue, Naperville on Friday November 7th from 5 until 8 p.m. Interment will be private.
