Vera Marie Vadnais Obituary

Vera Marie Vadnais (Long) (Lane)

It is with great sadness that the family of Vera Marie Vadnais (Long) (Lane) announces her peaceful passing on October 8th, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born on May 18th, 1931, Vera lived a long and beautiful life surrounded by the love her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, whose greatest joy was spending time with her loved ones. Vera was predeceased by her parents, Lu Lu Mae Porter (Long) and Frederick Napier Long; her sisters Edith, Marjie, Lois, Eleanor, and Mary; her brothers Lee, Jack, Chuck, and Murray; and her beloved granddaughter Lori Hanley. She is survived by her sister Pauline and brother Robert. She will be deeply missed by her nine children: Linda (Percy), Jean (Dave), John, Fred (Faye), Patsy (Terry), Joe (Jeanie), Danny (Judy), Mary (Tony), and David, along with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Vera had a kind and gentle heart and was always happiest when surrounded by those she loved. She often spoke fondly of her father and treasured memories of her home in Martinon. She enjoyed walking, loved visiting the city market, and had a lifelong passion for music—especially the smooth melodies of Nat King Cole. Vera also had a sweet tooth and delighted in sharing treats with her family. Her warm smile, caring spirit, and love for life will be cherished by all who knew her.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424). With visitation on Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM– 1:30 PM. A Funeral Service will be held from Portland United Church, 50 Newport Crescent, Saint John, NB on Saturday, October 11, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM. Followed by a reception at Brenan's Reception Room, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB. Donations may be made to Donors Choice.

The family wishes to thank the hospital, nurses, and extends a special thanks to Marjolina, Catrine, Vinnia, and all the staff at 3CS for their compassion and care.
