It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Matthew N. Champagne, who tragically lost his life in a car accident on September 27, 2025, at the age of 23. He was the son of Anthony Venuto and Jayme Champagne.

Matthew was born in Derby, CT on May 11, 2002. He attended Lake Region High school and was a graduate of Crosby High School. Matthew enjoyed working on cars and hanging out with family and friends. He especially enjoyed hanging out with his two cousins Christopher Champagne and Jason Green working on rebuilding cars. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and spending time with family at Rangeley Lake.

Besides his parents Anthony and Jayme of West Burke, VT, Matthew leaves his siblings Joseph, Aiden, Jaelynn, Madison, Zackery and John; his grandfather Michael A. Champagne Sr. and grandmother Victoria Venuto. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Matthew was predeceased by his aunt Tammy Champagne, uncle Michael Champagne and grandmother Claudia Champagne.

Arrangements: A Mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalen 2 Buckingham Street in Oakville, CT on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 11:00 am. Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 200 Benson Road, Middlebury has been entrusted with Matthews services.
