Laura Jean “Jeannie” Moore, 82, of Akeley MN passed away on October 6, 2025 at her home. Jean was born on June 10th, 1943 to John and Lazella (Williams) Warnke in St. Paul MN. She grew up in Akeley MN, graduating from high school in 1961. She married Ernest Moore in Walker MN in 1964. They raised their children in Little Falls MN and returned to living in Akeley after Ernie’s retirement. Jean was a member of the Moose Lodge in Little Falls. Jean enjoyed gardening, nature, coloring, art, books, and a wide variety of music. She loved her dogs and other pets she had through the years. Jean loved plants and flowers. Her home was filled with houseplants and floral arrangements and she enjoyed her deck plants and her gardens. She enjoyed decorating for holidays. Jean loved living in the woods, watching the birds in her many feeders, and seeing deer, bear, and other wildlife crossing her yard while she sat in her rocking chair with a dog in her lap while listening to music.

Jean will be deeply missed by her family. She is survived by her children: Lisa (David) Bolton of Grand Rapids MN, Stephanie (Lenard) Orth of LaPorte City IA, Susan (Brian) Thomas of Albuquerque NM, Sandra (Martin) Stuckey of Rice MN, Robert (Corin) Moore of Frazee MN, her brother Richard Warnke of Alhambra IL and sister Betty TerWee of Akeley MN; her grandchildren Steven Orth, Samantha Camilli, Kristen Orth, Iris Bolton, Julia Moore, Alexander Moore, Christopher Bolton; and great-grandchildren Leah Orth, Kimber Orth, Giovanni Bolton; many nieces and nephews, and her dog Buffy. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernie, and her brothers Jon Warnke, Robert Warnke, and Thomas Warnke.

A celebration of life will be held at Cease Funeral Home in Nevis MN on October 13 at 2:00 pm with visitation an hour prior. Interment will be at Akeley City Cemetery following services.
