Thomas M. Scott passed away peacefully at the age of 94 at Northridge Village of Ames on October 1, 2025.
Thomas was born in Washington D.C. on July 16, 1931, to William Thomas and Margaret (McLean) Scott. He married Lelia Gentry in 1962.
Thomas earned his doctorate from University of Wisconsin, Madison in 1962. He later became a Professor of Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University, from which he retired in 1997. Tom had a lifelong passion for photography, including nature and portraits.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William Scott. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lelia Gentry Scott; his daughters, Susannah (Allen) Proper and Sarah Watson; and his two granddaughters, Lakota and Tallis Watson.
