Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Albert aged 86 years.
Predeceased by his wife Catherine Newhook; son Edward Newhook; grandson Zachary Newhook; parents Hazel and Winston; brothers Wayne, Paul, and Jimmy; sisters Christine, June, and Betty.
Leaving to mourn his loving partner, Shirley Power; children Debbie Butler (Keith); Bev MacNeil (Dave), Tony Newhook (Roxanne), Valerie Mayo (Dave), and Cathy; grandchildren Keith Jr. (Heather), Krystle, Tom (Vanessa), Ashley, Matthew; great-grandchildren Rebecca, Isabella, Thomas; also extended family and friends.
A special thank you to the staff of 4 North A and the medical transfer unit at the Health Sciences Centre for the amazing care.
Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Tuesday, October 7 from 11am-9pm. Funeral service will be held from the Barrett’s Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, October 8 at 11 am. Interment will take place at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on Thursday, October 9 at 11 am.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Albert’s memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #1.
