In Loving Memory of Maria (Madalena) Rosa Junior
January 14, 1940 – September 30, 2025
It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Maria (Madalena) Rosa Junior.
Maria was born on January 14, 1940, in Faial, Açores. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, José Francisco Junior. Their love story continues as they are now reunited once again. Maria was also predeceased by her sister Maria Neves (Joe), and her parents, Madalena do Céu Vargas and Manuel da Rosa.
Maria will be forever loved and deeply missed by her devoted son Arlindo (Arnie) Francisco and her loving daughter-in-law Sherry. She is also survived by her sister Lúcia (José), and will be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
She was a proud and cherished grandmother to Jessica Aguiar (Chris) and Stephanie Francisco (Cody), and an adoring great-grandmother to Sophia and Madeline Aguiar, and Francis Byrne.
Maria’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and generosity. Her deep devotion to her family and friends was evident in every part of her life. She found joy in keeping in touch with loved ones through “the Facebook” and Messenger. She especially treasured her time at the family cottage in Turkey Point, where she loved being by the water.
Maria was a very religious woman and would always pray for the health and happiness of her family. Though she’s gone, she will continue to watch over everyone she loves.
