Audrey Denise Rush-Spicer was born on August 8, 1967, in the historic city of Selma, Alabama, and gracefully departed this life on September 26, 2025, at the age of 58. Her journey was one marked by love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family and friends.

Audrey was the daughter of Sarah Evelyn Rush and Y.C. Coleman. As a proud alumna of Selma High School's class of 1986, Audrey carried her Southern roots with pride and grace throughout her life. She embodied the spirit of a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, wife, and friend, roles she embraced wholeheartedly and with profound love.

Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon C. Spicer, her mother, Sarah Rush, and her niece, April Rush. Their spirits now join her in eternal peace.

Her life was a testament to the power of connection and the beauty of nurturing relationships. Audrey's greatest achievements were the lives she touched and the hearts she warmed. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving children: Darius Rush, Ashley J. Rush, and Jessica Rush, who will carry forward her wisdom and kindness.

Audrey's warmth and generosity extended to her grandchildren—Ja'Quavious R. Rush, Jaeda K. Lee, Da’Mon Wright, Ashton Rush, Landen Green, and Aubri Colvin—each of whom she cherished deeply. Her siblings, Constance Grant, Sherman (Barbara) Rush, and Jerome Rush, remember her as a guiding light and a source of unwavering strength. Audrey also leaves behind nieces and nephews, including Andria (Christopher) Grant-Smith, Jasmine Green, Dana Rush, and Sherman Rush, Jr., who will forever hold fond memories of their beloved aunt.

Additionally, she lovingly embraced her bonus children, Ka'darius Martin, Jarvarious Hall, Rochelle Lewis, and Santana Hurry and bonus grandchild Da’Jour Cook.  As well as her stepchildren Marco Spicer and Keitha Spicer, enriching their lives with unconditional support and affection.

In Audrey's life, friendships blossomed into family. Her special friends—Keisha Wright, Phyllis Watts, Estelle Thomas, Jennifer Smith, Christine Rembert, and Linda "Gwen" Williams—were constant companions on her journey, sharing laughter, tears, and countless cherished moments.

A memorial service has been scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 12 Noon from the Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home Chapel with Aubrey Larkin's Lewis Brothers Funeral Home of Selma serving with excellence through professional service.
