Chynoweth, Susan Margaret (Bullock) (née Pimmett)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Margaret (Bullock) Chynoweth, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Surrounded by family, Susan passed away peacefully, on September 22, 2025 at the age of 69 years.
Susan was the loving wife of thirty-six years of Trevor Chynoweth of Keene, Ontario and the proud and devoted mother of son Evan (Jessica Manley), daughters Emma (James Bruce-Hunt) and Molly, and grandmother to Makenna Chynoweth-Bruce, and Jackson and Jason Chynoweth.
Susan is also deeply missed by her extended Pimmett, Bullock and Chynoweth families; sister Jocelyn Hopkins, and brothers Scott (Carol) and Larry Pimmett; father-in-law Elmer Bullock; sisters-in-law Jane Jackson, Nancy (Gary) Gammond, Wayne (Cindy) Bullock, Anne (Greg) Doyle and Kathy Pimmett, and brother-in-law Grant Bullock; brother-in-law Peter (Sharon) Chynoweth and sister-in-law Wendy (Ed) Chynoweth-Vit; along with many, many nieces and nephews and a wealth of friends.
Susan was predeceased by her first husband, Allen Bullock in 1979, as well as her parents Murray and Gaye Pimmett along with mothers-in-law Rosemarie Bullock and Esther Chynoweth, father-in-law Jack Chynoweth, and brothers-in-law Tom Jackson and Jay Faires.
In her early years, Susan had farming in her blood. She was involved with many organizations related to agriculture, including the OFA, the Shorthorn cattle association, 4H and other such endeavours. These interests led her to Kemptville College for an agriculture program and indirectly led to her connection with Trevor whom she met at the Royal Winter Fair where they were both helping to show cattle.
Above all, Susan loved rural life and that led to the many things that occupied her life. This meant that she devoted her life to her children and their many activities. She was a hockey, lacrosse, slow-pitch and soccer Mom, and was a regular participant at events sponsored by the Keene Lions Club: bingo – you got it!
Susan was also busy in the community of Keene – helping to lead Girl Guides, working as a school volunteer, and many other activities. She was an avid reader and enjoyed walking on the old railroad tracks that were near the farm.
During the past decade, Susan enthusiastically embraced her role as Grammy to her three grandchildren, one that she loved and in which she delighted.
Susan’s family would like to thank Dr. Blake and the Palliative Care team at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre for their compassion and care during the final days of Susan’s journey.
A come and go celebration of Susan’s life will take place on Saturday, October 4 from 1 pm until 7 pm, at the Keene Lions Club at 1137 Heritage Line, Keene, Ontario. The celebration will include a video tribute and reception. Everyone who knew and loved Susan is invited to come and remember a life of love, warmth, humour and grace.
