It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dear mother and grandma Marge who passed away peacefully after a short stay in the hospital on September 22, 2025 at the age of 84.
She will be forever remembered by her children Denise Belsham, Derek (Patty) Belsham, and Tamara (David) Lisowski, and her cherished grandchildren Rachel and Matt (Ashley) Belsham, and Carlos and Diego Yusta Belsham.
She is survived by sisters-in-law Verna Kozie, Phyllis Lavergne, Liz Belsham, Carol Belsham, Doris Belsham, and brother-in-law Jim (Tina) Belsham, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Charles, her parents Steve and Antonia Kozie, brother Clarence Kozie, sister Jean Ryback, infant brother Mernie and brothers-in-law Roger Lavergne, Mike Ryback, George Belsham, Bill Belsham, and David Belsham.
The family would like to thank the kind and dedicated staff at St Boniface Hospital and her daily care workers in Transcona for their diligent support.
Prayers for the deceased will take place at 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 25 and the funeral service will be held on Friday, September 26 at 10:00 am, both at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day St. in Transcona, with Fr. Mark Gnutel officiating. A reception will follow in the parish hall with interment afterward at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cooks Creek.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marge’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (heartandstroke.ca), St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church (stmichaelsparish.wordpress.com) or to the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church of Cooks Creek Grotto Restoration Fund (immaculatechurch.ca).
