Robin Anita White Obituary

Robin White, of Rockville, Maryland, passed away on September 13, 2025, in Rockville, Maryland. She was born on August 24, 1956, to Juanita White and Reverend Robert White.

Robin grew up in Maryland and attended Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville. A woman of many passions, she traveled to California, where she appeared on Soul Train and crossed paths with Dawn Caniles, Rick James, Marvin Gaye, Berry Gordy, and Jermaine Jackson. She often said that Teena Marie had taken her spot.

Robin was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She sang with Garbo, in her church, and at countless funerals, touching hearts with her gift of song.

Though her father once wondered why she returned, Robin came back to Maryland to raise her only child, Marlo Scott, by Caroll Scott. While back home, she served her community by working as a Montgomery County school bus driver, then at the U.S. Post Office. Her final and most meaningful role was working with children with autism, where her compassion, patience, and joy shone through.

Robin leaves behind her loving mother, Juanita White; her sisters, Rhonda Sims and Vanesa Ross; her brothers, Tony Freeman, Robert White and late brother Royce White; her cherished granddaughter, Tyaliyah Hutton-Scott; her grandson, Tyree Hutton; and a host of step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her devotion to family, her love of music, and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her.
