Joseph MacDermant Obituary Joseph P. MacDermant, age 68, passed away on Tuesday June 25, 2025, at the Overlook Medical Center, Summit.
Born in Elizabeth, to Fredrick and Constance MacDermant, he lived in Roselle Park for many years and most recently Clark since 1990. Mr. MacDermant honorably served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for over 30 years for the Union County Department of Parks and Recreation. Mr. MacDermants last title with them was the Assistant Director of Golf.
Mr. MacDermant was a parishioner of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford, he served as a deacon and was in the church choir with his eldest daughter. He loved karaoke, golf, fishing, crabbing and was an excellent cook. He also had the honor of coaching his youngest two daughters softball teams.
He is survived by his three daughters; Jaclyn MacDermant, Caitlin Santos, Lauren Meierdierck; six siblings, John, Eileen Tassitano, Mike, Bob, Tom, Christopher; four grandchildren, Carter and Aiden Kirmales and Milo and future Baby Meierdierck.
He is predeceased by his sister, the late Carol Ficcara.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Memorial Gathering on Friday June 27, 2025, from 4:30-6 pm, at the Krowicki Gorny Memorial Home 211 Westfield Ave. Clark, NJ 07066. A Memorial Service will begin from 6-6:30 pm.
