Michael Reffi, age 61 of Hardyston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20th, 2025, at the Hackensack University Medical Center, with his family by his side.
Born in Teaneck to the late Marino E. and Joyce C. (Thompson) Reffi, Michael grew up in West Milford and has been living in Hardyston for over thirty years. Michael was an exempt fireman with Hardyston Fire Department, where he will be remembered as the best Santa Claus to countless kids in the community. He loved old cars, especially attending car shows with his antique truck. Above all, Michael adored his children and grandchildren.
Predeceased by his parents; brother Eugene Reffi; and nephew Robert E. Drew, Michael is survived by his daughters Amy Scanniello (Joseph) and Kayla Ramage (Brandon); sisters Christine Drew (Wally) and Leeann Detaranto; and brother Jim Reffi (Kathleen); as well as his three beloved grandchildren, Vincent and Lucas Scanniello and Bennett Ramage.
Visitation for Michael will be held on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-9PM at the F. John Ramsey Funeral Home, One Main Street, Franklin, NJ 07416, with a service taking place at 8:30PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
