Ivan James (Rusty) Fuqua a retired U. S. Navy Chief Petty Officer died unexpectedly at his home in Peoria, Arizona on 27 June 2019 at the age of 79. Rusty was born in Miami, Arizona on February 6, 1940 to Francis M. Fuqua and Elsie E. Rogers. He lived his early years in the Verde Valley of Arizona and retired from the U. S. Navy after 20 years active service. Rusty married Judy I. Elder of Kannapolis, North Carolina on 20 April 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada and they resided on West Butler Drive in Peoria for the next 31 years. During Rusty's Naval career he was privileged to visit the Philippine Island; Taiwan; Formosa; Hong Kong, China; Australia; Vietnam and various other countries. Rusty was sort of a Jack-of-all-trades by serving successfully as a Food Service Director; Manager of a Supermarket; Utah Police Officer; Senior Warehouse Man and Security Officer at a Nuclear Power plant. Rusty and Judy finally retired and during the next few years enjoyed their time at home and in their Mountain top cabin. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Menke Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 12420 North 103rd Avenue, Sun City, Arizona 85351
