David Glenn Phillips, 70, of Newton, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

David was born on April 24, 1955 in Catawba County to the late Cleveland Phillips Sr. and Vivian Arlene Turner Phillips. He attended Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Catawba and retired as a server from Holiday Inn Select.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Gibbs Phillips; sisters, Katie Emma Graham, Gloria Ramsuer, and Dianna Lackey; and brother, Willie "Shorty" Phillips.

A homegoing service to celebrate David's life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Bennett Funeral Service, 7878 NC Hwy 16, Newton. Minister Erica Turner and Pastor Joe Shuford will officiate. The family will hold a quiet hour prior to the service from 1:30 to 2:15 at Bennett Funeral Service.
