Stephen G. Leden Obituary

Stephen G. Leden, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, son, and
brother, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, in his hometown of
Aurora, Illinois. Born on October 22, 1955, to Gladys and the late George
Leden, Stephen's life was a testament to the enduring spirit of community and
family.
A proud graduate of East Aurora High School, class of 1974, Stephen carried
with him not just the memories of his youth but a lifelong passion for baseball,
a sport that taught him the values of teamwork and perseverance. His love for
the game was matched only by his dedication to his work. For 37 years,
Stephen was a valued employee at Solar Press in Naperville, where his work
ethic and camaraderie were appreciated by all. After the company closed, he
found joy in his role with the Fox Valley Park District, where working outdoors
allowed him to connect with nature and the community he so loved.
Stephen was married for a short time when his daughter, Tara Barnhart was
born. He then met and married Denise, and started a family that included her
daughter Amy Bauer and her partner, Andre, and her son Mickeel Jenkins.
His legacy continues through his grandson, Mickeel Jenkins. Stephen was a
supportive brother to Doug (Lynda) Leden, David Leden, and he held close
the memory of his late brother Mike (Debbie) Leden. He was a dear uncle,
cousin, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.
Beyond his family, Stephen's interests reflected his love for life and the simple
pleasures it offers. An avid fisherman, he found solace in the quiet moments
by the water with his Father In Law, Ronald Booth. His skillful hands and
selfless nature meant he was always ready to lend a hand with lawn work or
any task that needed doing. His enthusiasm for sports endured as he
remained a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears,
celebrating their triumphs and standing by them in times of challenge.
Stephen's involvement with the Lucky 50 Club, Tiger Club, and 3rd Ward Club
illustrated his commitment to fellowship and community. He was a man who
built friendships as easily as he built everything else, with care and dedication.
