Mrs. Day, age 74 loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away at McLaren Bay Region Medical Center following a lingering illness. She was born on December 9, 1944 in Kawkawlin, Michigan to the late Eugene & Irma (Raymond) Grandmaison. She married Calvin Day on June 12, 1965 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bay City, Michigan. Janet enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, doing puzzles, bird watching and breeding dogs. Most of all she enjoyed her family and her grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband of 54 years are their children; Scott (fiancé Rebecca Westergard) Day, Joseph (Kathryn) Day, Calvin Day and Amy (Brad) Carson, grandchildren; Andrew (fiancé Allison Jones) Day, Cheyenne Parsons and Gracie Bowman, brothers, Tom (Kay) Grandmaison, Randy (Pam) Grandmaison and a sister Debbie (Al) Rybkowski. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Torianna Parsons and a brother Eugene Grandmaison.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019 at 5 pm from the Rivertown Funeral Chapel with Jane Grzegorczyk presiding with inurnment at a later date in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, from 12 noon until time of service.
