Bernardi, Celia Rose Howell, Michigan Her Legacy… Celia Rose Bernardi, 92, passed away June 30, 2019. She was born on March 8, 1927, in Spring Valley, Illinois to Delpho Gualandri and Jennie (Bartolini) Gualandri. Celia married the love of her life, Donald Bernardi, on May 13, 1950, at the St. Benedict Catholic Church in Ladd, Illinois. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother of four children, which she considered her greatest achievement. Her life was spent being dedicated to her family. She and Donald loved to travel to see their children and grandchildren from coast to coast. Hawaii was definitely a highlight destination for her and her family. Celia loved sports and athletic competition. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling and bridge, and would love watching the Chicago White Sox play. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her Family… Celia will be missed by her children, Donald (Joan) Bernardi, David (Kimberly) Bernardi, Barbara (Richard) Alton, and Linda (Greg) Mable; and grandchildren, Leah, Caroline, Daniel, Anthony, Francis, Joseph, and Angela. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Bernardi; parents, Delpho and Jennie Gualandri; and siblings, Alyce Colombo, Rita Corson, and Rose Magnani. Her Farewell… Celia’s family and friends will gather Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 10:00am at Fiocchi Funeral Home, 219 S. Main Street, Cherry, Ill. 61317 until time of service at 1:00pm for Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church, 212 S. Main Street, Cherry, Illinois. Father Patrick Fixen will serve as celebrant. Burial to follow. She will be laid to rest at the Ladd Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Bede Academy, 24 W.
