Royce "Rick" Michael Harris Cleveland, Tennessee Obituary

Royce "Rick" Michael Harris

Rick Harris, a longtime resident of Chattanooga, TN, lost his battle to cancer and passed away on June 5, 2019. He is survived by his only daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Collin Quinn, and grandson Cameron Quinn, all of Charlotte, NC. He also leaves behind two sisters, Sonnie Rosemond of Richmond, VA and Peggy Cannon of Charlotte, NC; as well as, two nieces, Heather Fairley of Charleston, SC and Leslie Steen of Huntington Beach, CA, and one nephew, Chuck Rosemond of Steamboat Springs, CO. Additionally, he will be greatly missed by his Tennessee family, the Rothwells, who embraced him fully over the years. Originally born in Presque Isle, ME to Grace and Roy Simon Harris, he moved to NC where he spent his childhood into his adult years. He graduated from Independence High School in 1969 and attended CPCC in Charlotte. After 7 years in the Army Reserves, he pursued his career in the apparel industry working with Tate Brown, Banner House and Etienne Aigner. Changing gears, he then spent some time living and working for a home builder on Bald Head Island before returning to his sales profession at Appalachian Stone in Tennessee. Rick had a zest for life, passion for art and music, and an unsurpassed love for family and friends. He will forever be remembered by his magnetic personality and sense of humor, eye for detail, and strong will. He truly never knew a stranger, only new friends. A service to celebrate his life will be held at Community Freewill Baptist Church in Pikeville, TN on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00pm EST. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Freewill Baptist Church, or other charities of your choosing.

Rick introduced me to my husband. It was so good to spend time with Rick in Holden Beach after the last Independence Reunion. RIP Rick...you will be missed.
