Edward John “Sonny” Kokosinski, 79 of Wellsburg, WV died peacefully on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at Weirton Medical Center. Born on January 20, 1940 in Wellsburg, WV a son of the late Edward Stanley and Josephine (Miller) Kokosinski. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Mewha and Bernice Allen and his brother John Thomas Kokosinski. He graduated from Wellsburg High School and served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Sonny was a jack of all trades and considered to be quite the handy man. Sonny is survived by two children, Edward Kokosinski and fiancé Cynthia Anderson of Wellsburg, WV, and Dora (Monty) Wallace of Follansbee, WV; one sister, Josephine (Moe) Diserio of Wellsburg, WV; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; his ex-wife Dora Louise (Smith) Louthen of Wellsburg, WV; a special daughter in law Valerie Hamilton Kokosinski; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019 from 12:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 PM at Windsor Heights Church of God 1033 Sarko St. Windsor Heights, WV 26075 with Pastor Lori Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.
