Ethel Gibbs

Ethel Mae Jiles Gibbs, was born on December 25, 1931, to the late Lester Jiles and Annie Lee Leach. She departed this life on August 8, 2009, at the City of Oaks Retirement Home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ethel was educated in the Raleigh City Schools and enjoyed her life as a homemaker. She was united in holy matrimony to Jesse James Gibbs, Sr., who preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn: three loving sons, Jesse James Gibbs, Jr., Raleigh, NC, Ronald Wayne Gibbs, Sr. of Miami, Florida and Claude Edward Gibbs (Diane) of Raleigh, NC; two grandsons, Ronald Gibbs, Jr., Miami, FL and Anthony Perry, Raleigh, NC; one granddaughter, Annye Gibbs of Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Larry Jiles (Gladys) of Wendell, NC and Alexander Jiles (Angeline) of Raleigh, NC; five sisters, Betty Terry of Jonesville, N. C., Shirley Adewuyi and Judy Towns (Mike) of Providence, Rhode Island, Rozelle Ellis of Wendell, NC and Ozell Spence (Willis) of Knightdale, NC; one nephew, Nathaniel Curley of Raleigh, NC; three nieces, Asondra Johnson and Dianthia Lopez of Raleigh, NC and MaryCrew of Athens, Georgia and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. She loved her children immensely. She will be greatly missed by those who loved and served her ~ especially her housemates, Phyllis and Sarah. ********* Funeral service Saturday, August 15th, 3PM at Old Phelps Chapel Baptist Church, 3309 Hwy 98 West, Youngsville, NC Visitation hours Friday from 2-8PM at the Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday from 2-3PM prior to service. Interment will follow service in the church cemetery.
