Joyce Nell Altman Obituary

Altman – Joyce Nell Altman, age 90, of Starke, Florida, passed away peacefully at her residence on August 23, 2025. Joyce was born in Fox, Oklahoma, on April 30, 1935, to the late Z.B. and Flora Love. She attended and graduated from Manitou High School in Oklahoma. After Highschool Joyce started her family, she took great pride in raising her children. Several years later Joyce decided to further her education, she enrolled in college, where she studied before beginning her long and successful career as a Telephone Operator with Southern Bell and BellSouth, where she proudly retired. Joyce met and married the love of her life and best friend, Outland Altman, and together they shared 58 wonderful years. In 2001, the couple moved to Starke, where they made their forever home in Bradford County. In her spare time, Joyce found joy in quilting, sewing, and canning. She was an amazing cook who made everything from scratch, but above all, she cherished the time spent with her precious grandchildren. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Joyce, will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Outland Altman; and her daughter, Sheila Altman.

Joyce leaves behind her children, F. Kay (Tommy) Lowe, Steve Altman and Vanessya (John) Kober; brothers, Odell ( Theda) Love and Harold Love; in laws, Reginald Altman and Ann Love; grandchildren, Leah (Bruce) Kimbrell, Rachel (John) Long, Jessica ( Andy) Kloke, Melissa Hardison, Gary Sikes, Chris (Kristie) Lowe, Anthony Altman, Nicolis Altman, Stefanie (Randy) Hays and Eric (Cathy) Eng; many great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
