Clayton Earl Suhrbier, 65, of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for Clayton at Bach-Yager Funeral Chapel on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Clayton was born in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, on April 22,1960, the son of the late Carl and Sharon (Porter) Suhrbier.   Clayton attended Praise Assembly of God Church.  Clayton owned and operated Clayton’s Repair in Sturgeon, Missouri, where he was known for his commitment to quality and his pride in a job well done. Before starting his business, he worked at Oscar Meyer, but it was his later years he enjoyed tinkering and woodworking. Whether he was fixing something, offering advice, or just lending a hand, Clayton’s generosity and work ethic left a lasting impact on everyone he met. Beyond his skills and hobbies, Clayton had a knack for bringing laughter into any room. He was always ready with a joke, a funny story, or a piece of advice—whether you wanted it or not! 

Clayton’s spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Clayton is survived by two siblings, Kim Suhrbier of Hallsville, Missouri, and Julia Perry of Assumption, Illinois. They were a big part of his life and held a special place in his heart; his stepmother, Doreen Suhrbier; his two children, Amanda Ruppel (Jason) and Clayton Carl Suhrbier. He was proud of each of his five grandchildren, Keaira Libhart (Cameron), Shelby Ruppel, Isaiah Black, Bryson Suhrbier, Rylan Suhrbier and his two great-grandchildren, Lillianna Black and Jansen Libhart.

In addition to his parents, Clayton was preceded in death by two siblings, Randy Dean Suhrbier and Carla Mathes.
