Linda June Davis Obituary
Linda Jones Davis, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on August 5, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on April 28, 1946, in Caruthersville, Missouri, she was the daughter of Elvis “Skeet” Jones and Lottie Mae Blankenship Jones.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Robert; four sisters, Anita Malone, Carolyn Moody, Wanda Brantley, and Mary Hicks; and a brother, Alan Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Eric) Stocker; two sisters, Janet Jones and Debbie (Tony) Hood; and three brothers, Elvis Jones, John Jones, and Jim (Connie) Jones. Linda also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and their children, all of whom she loved deeply and considered part of her extended family.
Linda had a passion for Ohio State sports and was a devoted Buckeyes fan. She began her working life at the soda fountain of Baskins Drug Store in her hometown and went on to build a long and respected career as an administrative professional. Her work included roles at Dow Chemical, Buckeye Federal Savings and Loan, the Voinovich Administration at the State of Ohio, the Ohio Liquor Commission, L Brands, Charming Shoppes, and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission.
After graduating from Caruthersville High School in 1964, Linda lived in many places including Missouri, Tennessee, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts—before she settled in Columbus, Ohio, in 1982, where she spent the remainder of her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to Kobacker House or Compassus.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1735 Bethel Road, Columbus, Ohio.
Linda will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
