Jay Aaron Foust Obituary

Durham: Jay Aaron Foust, 46. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jay Foust on 5/21/2019. His life was shortened too soon in the line of duty. He was born in Durham to Cordelia Foust and the late Harry Virgil Foust. In addition to his mother, Jay is survived by sister, Gina Berry (Greg); fiancé, Lisa Boyd; daughters, Makayla, Anna and Emily Foust; niece, Taylor Berry; and nephew, Blake Berry. In addition, he is survived by aunt, Deirdre Fischbach (Ed); uncle, Brad Foust (Glenna); and cousins, David Shetler (Cindy), Stephen Shetler and Nikki Foust. Jay was known for his smile, positive outlook, and mellow demeanor. He enjoyed life and spending time with his family, especially his daughters. He was a loving son, father and brother. He was a selfless, compassionate, and humble person who thought more of others than himself. One of the places he became involved with was the TROSA Organization of Durham. He would drop by to offer support, encouragement, and snacks. Jay never met a stranger. Not only did he care for people, he had a passion for animals. He adopted three dogs of his own; Turbo, Bella, and Ginger that are going to miss the car rides and trips for burgers. He was employed as a security officer for Allied Universal. Prior to this position he was employed by AAA Emergency-Roadside Services for Durham. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 28th from 6 to 8 pm at Clements Funeral Home in Durham. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 29th at Bahama Baptist Church with Reverend Wes McMurray officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Bahama Baptist Church, 7917 Willardsville Station Road, Bahama, NC 27503 or TROSA “Women’s Program”, 1820 James St. Durham NC 27707. He will forever be missed by his family and friends. The family is being assisted by Clements Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. in Durham.
