Charlie Walton transitioned peacefully into Glory on Tuesday, August 19,2025. H e was born on October 3,1936 to Sylvester and Myrtice Walton inAdel, Georgia. H e was the youngest of their three sons. Charlie and his brothers, Willie Henry a n d T.H. shared many w o n d e r f u l , mischievous childhood adventures. T h e y were known a s " T h e Walton Clan".
Charlie attended Cook County Training School. While at school he met, fellin love and married his high school sweetheart Lucile Smith. They were married for 58 years until Lucile's untimely death in 2012.In 2012, Charlie found love again with, Susie Clayton and, they were married o n February 14, 2013A devoted outdoorsman, Charlie loved farming, fishing, hunting,sports. He had a special fondness for the Georgia Bulldogs, his favorite college team. He was also dedicated member of various community owned Tots and Toddlers Daycare Center and a janitorial service. He
actively coached an supported local youth recreational baseball teams.He had a special interest in building boys into godly men.h e j o i n e d M t . O l i v e B a p t i s t C h u r c h a t a y o u n g a g e . T h e r e h e s e r v e d a s
e a c o n a n d C h a i r o f t h e D e a c o n B o a r d f o r o v e r 5 0 v e a r s . H e a l s o t a u g hSunday School and served a s Sunday School Superintendent. As the oldest member o f Mount Olive Baptist Church, Charlie exhibited unwavering
faith and service to his God, numerous pastors and the entire congregation.His professional journey included a remarkable tenure of over 50 years atTalley Corbett Box Company.
Charlie then worked 10 years at Wirerass Technical College until hisretirement in 2020 at the age of 83years of age.
Charlie lived by the motto, "If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't changea thing."Charlie i s survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. Susie Clayton- Walton; onesister, Mrs. Carolyn Walton; a n aunt, Alberta Sue Williams; three sons,Charles E d w a r d Walton(Emi).
