Milton Lawrence Born With A Tooth (Brocket) Pincher Creek, Alberta Obituary

Milton Lawrence Born With A Tooth (Brocket)

The Ni’taiitsskaiks (Lonefighter Society) Leader, Milton Born With A Tooth of the Piikani Nation – Blackfoot Confederacy passed away peacefully on May 18, 2019 at the age of 61 years from a brief battle with Cancer. Milton is a lifelong protector of the Blackfoot Way of Life, and the lands and waters of the earth. He came to widespread notoriety in 1990, when the Alberta Government sought to dam the Oldman River, which would have flooded Peigan burial grounds. Up until his passing, Milton remained close to nature—spending everyday outside with his brother Randy and his son Starman listening to music and enjoying the company of his family and friends. To respect his wishes to allow all his children, family and many friends to be able to travel from across Canada and the United States, his celebration of life will be held during his birthday from June 9 -11, 2019. A Prayer Service will be held at Snodgrass Funeral Home on Sunday, June 9, at 9:00 am, followed by a two-day Wake Service at Rudy Yellow Horn's residence in Brocket. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 11 at 11:00 am at the Piikani Community Hall in Brocket, Alberta, followed by the burial at the Piikani Nation cemetery in Brocket. More information will be released after they work with his children, his siblings, his Elders and his friends to respect his wishes for a wholistic approach in celebrating his life.
