Lila Merle Moore Hickman (10/9/1917 – 5/15/2019) passed peacefully into the presence of the Lord she loved on Wednesday afternoon in New Braunfels, Texas. Born in Clarksville, AR to parents, Floyd R. Moore and Gwenola Kimbrell Moore, Lila had three siblings, Ralph Moore, Moriah Moore Reed, and Hubert Moore. In 1939, Lila married the love of her life, Glenn H. Hickman, who proceeded her into the presence of the Father in 2016. They had four children: Katy and Chuck Hunsberger, Glenn, Jr and Donna-Marie Hickman, Nancy and Steven Maker, and Marianne and Steve Smith. Lila worked to support the war effort on the home front during World War II, and followed her husband to Germany, Japan, and several states as he served during his 26 years of military service. Lila’s life was devoted to prayer and intercession, and she continually interceded for her physical family, her spiritual family and others. Her prayers impacted people and nations all around the world. She loved supporting her children and grandchildren as they traveled the globe, as missions was close to her heart. Lila is survived by her 4 children and their spouses, her 12 grandchildren and spouses: Rebecca, John (and Courtney), and Molly Hunsberger; Christina (and Shaun) Sullivan, Blake Hickman; Julie (and Blake) Williams, Lila (and Kevin) Yocum, Joanna (and Dustin) Sutherland; Jennifer (and Kevin) Quinn, Daniel (and Concetta), Angela, and Benjamin (and Camrie) Smith and 15 great-grandchildren. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 3:00pm at Lux Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX. Interment will be held Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 9:30am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to River City Vineyard Church (158 Roadrunner Ave., New Braunfels, TX 78130) to be distributed to his favorite mission organizations: TeachBeyond USA, Coalition for Christian Outreach, and Bethlehem Bible College.
