Frederick Drew McLeod, 82, of Warren, OH danced across the Heavens with his wife Darlys on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center. He was born June 18, 1936, in Jenkins, KY, the son of the late Eugene and Eloise (Cole) McLeod. On June 1, 1957, Frederick married the former Darlys Barr. They shared 58 years of marriage until her passing June 5, 2015. He was a 1955 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School. Frederick was owner and operator of the Orquideas Hotel in Costa Rica. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Frederick fought in 26 bull fights in Spain. He was a Golden Gloves champion in boxing, a world traveler and a pilot, who survived his own plane crash. He is survived by his son, Scott (Teresa) McLeod of Warren, OH; granddaughter, Chelsea (Patrick); siblings, Jean Lee Schumpert of TX, Douglas McLeod of Warren, OH, Gary McLeod of FL and Candy McLeod of Warren, OH; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2019, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Jim Dittmar will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
