Jeffery Scott Coleman Obituary

Jeffery Scott Coleman, 68, died Thursday July 31, 2025 at Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born March 5, 1957 in Garden City, Kansas; the son of Henry and Joan Dee (Sowers) Coleman.


Scott graduated from Dighton High School in 1976 and then went on to attend Vo Tech School in Goodland. Scott was a HAM Radio Operator and liked to talk to people from different places. One of Scott’s passions was being a coffee connoisseur by trying different blends and flavors. Scott also like to cook and was always trying new recipes. He was employed at Newsome IGA for many years until his retirement.


Survivors include his brother Dale and Shannon Coleman of Dodge City, Kansas, nephews Sean and Justine Jones of Severance, Colorado, Matthew and Morgan Jones of Dighton, Kansas, Jaden Coleman of Dighton, Kansas, Charlie Coleman of Dodge City, Kansas, and Alex Coleman of Wichita, Kansas.


Scott is preceded in death by his parents Henry and Joan Coleman, and brother and sister-in-law Jonny and Jayrene Coleman.


Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday August 7, 2025 in Dighton Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Jennifer Boeker officiating.
