William Lyle Dellar Jr., age 58, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Corewell Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, surrounded by his loving family and close friends. Though his time with us ended far too soon, William leaves behind a lasting legacy of kindness, positivity, and unwavering respect for others. His love, strength, and dependability were a true testament to the impact he had on the lives of everyone who knew him.
Born on February 28, 1967, in Ionia, Michigan, William was the son of William and Wanda (Vanderhoef) Dellar. He graduated from Oscoda High School in 1985 and married the love of his life, Tammy Robinson, on June 24, 1989, at the Free Methodist Church in Evart. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and three true blessings from God ; Cyana Rae, Auston Danial, and Carly Ranee.
He was the most loving, faithful and devoted husband. A true superhero dad, William never missed his children’s events—especially their athletic games. He was the fun and loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He had a deep passion for football and was a proud fan of both the Detroit Lions and the Michigan Wolverines. He loved working with his hands building wood projects, he especially loved snow plowing, and was the beloved grill master on every camping trip. Music was another joy in his life, with a special fondness for the “Four Fathers.”
William is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Tammy; his children, Cyana of Beal City, Auston of Mt. Pleasant, and Carly Dellar of Evart; his parents, William (Marilyn) Dellar of St. Cloud, Florida, and Wanda Dellar of Evart; and his granny, Della Licht of Atlanta, Michigan.
Also surviving are his siblings: Jeanette (James) Latham of Bangor, Cynthia (Dave) Mania of Lakeland, Florida, Diane Dellar of Oakwood, Georgia, Nicole (Alan) Wilson of St. Cloud, Florida, and Andrew (Becca) Dellar of Lakeland, Florida; his godsons Brandon, Ryan, and Jordin with whom he shared a meaningful bond; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, who played an instrumental role in his life.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, August 1st, at Corey Funeral Home in Evart, with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM. William will be laid to rest at Osceola Township Cemetery in Evart.
