Lieutenant Colonel Jerry L. Sheetz, Army, Retired (May 3, 1945-May 1, 2019) is survived by his wife of 49 years, Nancy, their four children--Eric, Dena (Bill), Paul (Carrie), and Liz (Kevin)--five grandchildren--Virginia, Michael, Sara, Andrew, and Ella--his sister, Nancy Stone, brother Roy (Tish), nephews, Larry (Kelly) and Sam, and great-niece, Claire. Jerry was an ardent patriot, an avid reader, and an attentive teacher to anyone willing to learn. His huge laugh was infectious and he never stopped moving if he was within earshot of music. Jerry was the embodiment of what it means to be a fighter. Whether he was fighting Communism in Vietnam as a Cobra pilot, fighting for another homerun on the softball field, fighting to make the best of a hand of cards in Bridge, or fighting for his life in his last two years, his fight never ended, even in his last moments. Rest easy now, Jerry, and know that we have taken up the fight.
