November 28, 1960 – July 5, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Joseph Malloy on July 5, 2025, at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Born on November 28, 1960, Brian was the beloved son of the late Elaine Blanchard (née Tufts) and his stepfather, Ronald Blanchard. He was raised in Halifax’s north end and attended St. Joseph’s, Alexander MacKay, and St. Patrick’s High School. Later in life, he made his home in Lower Sackville.

Brian was known for his strong work ethic and his love of unwinding after a long day with one of his famous "GIVERS" in hand. At the time of his passing, he was a proud member of the BlackTop Paving family, where he was affectionately known as “Chromie”—a nickname earned by his meticulous care for the chrome on his truck, which he kept gleaming with pride.

He is survived by his partner, Brianna Boutilier; his children, Andrew Malloy and Kelly Malloy; and his cherished grandchildren, Landon, Hannah, and Tommy. He also leaves behind his sisters, Janet Scallion (Paul) and Donna Daurie (Lester), and will be fondly remembered as “Uncle B” by many nieces, one nephew, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

As per Brian’s wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of his life will be held in the fall.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit (7A) at the Victoria General Hospital for their care, compassion, and patience during Brian’s final days.
