Louis Richard Prekop, Sr., 92, of Beaufort, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Defiance Inpatient Hospice in Defiance, Ohio. He was born on September 21, 1932 in Toledo, Ohio to Louis Steven and Mary Elizabeth (Hollo) Prekop. Louis honorably served his country in the United States Navy and on February 2, 1958 he married Jane Moyer in Macedonia, Ohio.

Louis worked as a quality control engineer at SK Wellman in Walton Hills, Ohio. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Beaufort, South Carolina and enjoyed golf, traveling, spending time with family and enjoying fine cuisine.

Louis is survived by his children, Louis R. (Cindy) Prekop, Jr., of Seattle, Washington, James (Christi) Prekop of Montpelier, Ohio, Lori (Gary) Yoho of Brenham, Texas, David (Suzi) Prekop of Beaufort, South Carolina and Jeffrey (Jen) Prekop of Hilton Head, South Carolina; eleven grandchildren, Mattea, Trevor, Erin, Amy, Stephanie, Zack, Ryan, Nick, Adam, Nail and Maria; ten great grandchildren, Bennett, Bowen, Jackson, Jayce, Jansen, Leon, Lilly, Mackenzie, Ashton and Elizabeth; and one sister, Rose (Prekop) Ryan of Mishawaka, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Jane Prekop.

A celebration of life service will start at 4 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier and the family will visit with friends after until 6 pm. Louis will be laid to rest at Beaufort National Cemetery at a later date.
