Arnold Pearson Jones III  was born January 21st 1953 in the city of Chicago to Eleanor and Arnold Jones Jr. He joined Lance and Victoria and would later be followed by Douglas.

He attended Northern Illinois University and then worked at General Electric motors for over thirty years. In that time he met and married his first wife, Dyana Jones and together they raised four children, Kenyita, Tyana, Jahmal & Ashanti as well as a plethora of cousins, friends and many animals. Dyana passed on March 7th of 2003. He met his second wife Carolyn Collins-Jones and remained with her until his passing on July 5th 2025.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn,  his four children, Kenyita Evans, Tyana Rainey Ilievska Jones (Iva), Jahmal Rainey (Krystal) and Ashanti Rainey (Ashley), his Grandchildren Sydney Rainey Gay, Karen & Cedric Montgomery, Fabian Rainey, Cole Rainey, Ariana Dyana Rainey, Mia Dotson, his step children, Jermain, Angie and Ryan, his nephews Mark Christmas and Lance Scott Jones, his nieces Tavonna, and Domini Rainey, Mike Rainey, Will Rainey as well as a plethora of loving family members and friends who number too abundantly to name them all.

He joins his parents Eleanor and Arnold Jones as well as his wife Dyana, his Aunt Melody Sykes, his great uncle Ronald Green, his brother Lance Jones, and his sister in Law Karen James in death. We will forever miss and love him as well as cherish our many happy memories of him.

His legacy Is one of love, generosity, and dedication to family and community. He will be remembered for his generosity, wisdom, and the joy he brought to those around him. His memory will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on through the memories and the impact he made on others. His dedication to his family and community serves as a reminder of the importance of love and kindness. 

The Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
