Gerald Thomas Conyers, age 81, of Lamar, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025 in a local hospital. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in Lamar Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 2:50 on Sunday at Belk Funeral Home, Lamar Chapel, and other times at the home.

Gerald was born in Florence County on April 2, 1944, son of the late Willie and Ila Mae Oliver Conyers. He started his career with VULCRAFT working on the yard, then moving to an over-the-road truck driver. He retired after 30+ years of working there. He enjoyed being outdoors and was known for his ability to be able to “fix things”.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Hudson Conyers, a son, Tommy (Susan) Conyers, grandchildren: Thomas “T.J”, Whitney, and Courtney Conyers; siblings: Ann (Owen) Wilkes, Loreen (Henry) Smith, Nancy Parnell, all of Lamar, Glenda (Linwood) Epps of Darlington and Lois Skinner of Spartanburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Jimmy and Glenn Conyers.
