Donna Marie Bobcean, 86 of Alanson passed away on July 5, 2025 at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey.

Donna was born on August 2, 1938 in Mount Clements, MI, the daughter of Walter Wagner and Stella (Stzymalski) Wagner. She grew up in Mount Clements, graduating from Mount Clements High School. On February 12, 1994, she married her lifelong friend, Russell Bobcean in Las Vegas, NV. The couple moved to Alanson in 1995, where they went on to share 31 years together. Donna loved animals, mostly cats and dogs, but she also loved the wild animals living around her property. She enjoyed viewing the smaller creatures that would come into her yard; the chipmunks and birds, as well as a few hungry bears that were after her birdfeeder, which she promptly warded off. Donna also enjoyed knitting, going to the casino, and fishing on Lake St. Clair. She proudly hosted the ‘Night Before Hunting Season’ kick off meal that has been a family tradition for over 70 years. She was also a member of the Winsome Women group.

Donna is survived by her husband Russell Bobcean, children Delynne Syrja, Russell (Beverly) Bobcean Jr., Jeffrey Bobcean, David (Connie Pemberton) Bobcean, and Christine (Jeffrey) Camphous. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren as well as friends Marie (Chet) Fisher/Fischer, Harriet Ramm, and Mary Ann Benoit. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter in law Jacqueline Bobcean.

A memorial service for Donna will be held at Stone Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Indian River on July 26. Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm with a funeral beginning at 12pm. There will be a luncheon to follow at the Great Lakes Grill in Cheboygan, MI.
