Joyce C. (Forte) Wilson Obituary

Joyce C. (Forte) Wilson, 82 of Atlantic Ave., Providence, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital. Joyce is survived by her husband of 61 years, Raymond C. Wilson.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Filomena (D’Errico) Forte.

Joyce was a hairdresser and salon owner for many years before joining her brother Joseph D. Forte and his late partner Don DiMuccio’s company, Total Construction, as office manager until her retirement.

Joyce enjoyed sewing and craft design. Joyce also enjoyed and went out of her way to participate in the lives of both her immediate and extended family. There was rarely a life event that “Grammy” or “Auntie” (as she was affectionately known) did not attend.

Joyce touched many lives and was loved and respected. What Joyce truly loved doing the most in her retirement was spending every day with her three-year-old great grandson, Jack. He was the light of her life as she was his. She is survived by her loving children, Joseph A. Forte of Providence, and Tanya Mcloughlin and her husband Jack of Lincoln. Joyce was the loving grandmother of Raena (Forte) Peterson and her husband John, and the great grandmother of John C. Peterson IV. Joyce was sister to Dolores M. Dunn and Joseph D. Forte. She was also the sister-in-law to Ellen Forte, the late Clarence G. Dunn and the late Floyd Dunn. Joyce also leaves her many nieces and nephews who she loved and enjoyed spending time with.

Visitation will take place Saturday, July 19th, from 4pm until 8pm, and again Sunday, July 20th from 10am until 11am in the “WOODLAWN” Funeral Home. A Funeral Home Service will begin at 11:00 am Sunday in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Donations in her memory may be made to Rhode Island SPCA 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886.
