Billie L. Salter, Sr., of Georgia, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the age of 90. Born
on August 25, 1934, in Atlanta, Billie lived a long and meaningful life marked by love,
laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances Salter, with whom he shared many
cherished years. Billie is survived by his children, Kathryn Bamer, David Salter, and Billie L.
Salter, Jr.; his grandchildren, Jacob, Brooke, Haley, Josh, and Alex; several great-
grandchildren and many other extended family members and friends who will miss him
dearly.
Billie was an upstanding man known for his protective nature, deep compassion for others,
and a chivalrous spirit that never wavered. He had a sharp wit and a warm sense of humor,
always ready with a joke to brighten someone’s day. His presence brought comfort, his
words brought wisdom, and his laughter brought joy.
A private service will be held for family at a later date to honor his life and legacy.
