Anthony Andrew Roper, 28, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he is the son of Patricia Ann Call Davis and her fiance John Huffstler, and Jesse Harold Roper, Jr. Anthony was a veteran of the US Army and attended Biltmore Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his parents are his sons: Ethan Roper and Marcus Chandler; grandmother, Melvine Roper; sisters: Melissa Ross and her husband Curtis, and Christy Roper; nieces: Haley Galloway, Moriah Roper; nephew, Tyler Galloway; aunt, Loretta Sales and husband Charlie; uncle, Jerry Roper; and friends: Coach Shaft Mills, Amy Mullen and the Reynolds Rockets Football family. Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in the chapel of the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Ronald Roberts officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
