Emma "Christine" Jardine Obituary

Emma “Christine” (Thompson) Jardine

December 31, 1955 – July 5, 2025

Christine Jardine, the beloved wife of Greg, passed away peacefully in Black Diamond, Alberta, at the age of 69 years. Born in High River, Alberta, to John and Sarah (Mickey) Thompson, she thrived on the family farm and attended school in Black Diamond.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Greg Jardine; daughter Sherry, (Frank) Krulicki; granddaughter, Stephanie (Ben) Kuhn; great-granddaughter, Faith Kuhn; grandson, Chris (Jenna Park) Krulicki; and numerous siblings, Stewart Thompson, Marilyn (Gordon) Kliever, Lois Thompson, Colleen Thompson, Sheila (Elliott) Todd, Bill (Rena) Thompson, Ben Thompson, Christopher (Lindsay) Thompson, and Ryan Li; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Christine was predeceased by their son, Tim; her parents, John and Mickey; great-nephew Joshua Kliever; and brother, Larry Thompson.

Christine loved God with all her heart and attended church regularly. She taught Sunday School and led Youth group at Ladner Baptist. She shared with everyone her love for Jesus and His love shone through her in the relationships she built.

Her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, along with her loving husband, daughter, and family were her life.

Christine loved plants, animals, and people. She cultivated a plethora of plants and warmly welcomed people into her home. She was hospitable and strengthened family bonds. She kept a cupboard full of favorite snacks, and a stash of preferred beverages for “pop-in” visitors. When she prepared family feasts, food preferences were frequently on the menu. She was exceptionally good with children and youth. She engaged with them naturally and repeatedly: her heart and home were a welcoming haven.

Christine was an excellent “farm-hand” for her dad during her school years and a superior employee during her employment stints. Chistine was a worker, regardless of the project, often carrying the heavy end of the stick.

Christine helped build more than one home alongside her husband Greg, and they offered a home away from home to a number of nieces, nephews, siblings and family friends. Christine prioritized her days and weeks with the skill of a CEO, often carrying a notebook to keep track of details needed for good decision making.

Christine’s efficiency was awe-inspiring, but her charismatic personality and kindness was even more effective in conveying her care for people. Christine kept up with the life of each individual in person, over the phone, or by internet. From her home she had a worldwide impact, and shared words of wisdom and advice.

She welcomed so many people into her life and loved them like they were family.
