With deeply broken hearts we announce the passing of Bill Sharpe of Leduc, AB, formerly Sarnia, ON, on July 5, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Bill lived a life marked by quiet strength, thoughtfulness, and unwavering support for those around him.
Bill will forever be missed by his loving wife and best friend of 43 years Mary Lou. He was the proud father of Dave (Amber), Steven, Ramie, David, and Kelly (Miles), and a loving grandfather to Shelby, Kaylene and Bradley. He is survived by his sister Janis (late Brent) and
was a cherished uncle to Trevor (Wendy) and Christine (Kevin) and their families.
Known for his problem-solving spirit and “Mr. Fix It” nature, Bill approached life with a twinkle in his eye and tools in hand. A lifelong sports fan, he was a devoted follower of the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Blue Jays, cheering them on until his final day. He also found joy on the golf course, especially at Pipestone, where he shared many rounds with close friends.
Bill's legacy of kindness, ingenuity, and quiet determination lives on in all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Leduc, AB. In tribute to Bill’s love of sports, guests are invited to wear a professional sports jersey or shirt. A private interment for family will follow.
Memorial donations in Bill’s honour may be made directly to the Roozen Family Hospice Centre in Edmonton, Alberta or St. Joseph’s Hospice in Sarnia, Ontario.
