Gloria Jean Burke Obituary

FITCHBURG - Gloria Jean Burke, age 76, of Fitchburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7, 2025, at home. She was born on July 18, 1948, in Reedsburg, the daughter of Erwin and Mary Ellen (Gardner) Baumgarten.


Gloria graduated from Webb High School in Reedsburg. She was united in marriage to Alan Burke on July 6, 1968. She served as vice president and managing partner of Burke Labs, Inc., DBA Aljan Company, retiring in 2020.


Gloria enjoyed making and collecting jewelry, putting puzzles together, collecting dolls and sewing. She loved taking trips to Arizona, girls shopping trips and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Morgan and Dylan; and great-granddaughter, Everley.


Gloria is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alan; son, Robb (Sherri) Burke; grandchildren, Morgan (Chandler) Purcell and Dylan Burke; great-granddaughter, Everley Purcell; sister, Susan Koz (Alan Bush); and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Carol Baumgarten and Kathleen Gengelbach.


A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025.
