Mathew Passarelli Price Obituary

Mathew Passarelli Price, beloved son, brother, uncle, teacher, and musician, passed away unexpectedly on July 1, 2025, at the age of 25 in Maryland.

Mathew grew up in St. Mary’s County, Maryland, where he was known for his warmth, humor, and incredible musical talent. A gifted and compassionate soul, his passion for music and education touched countless lives. He was a proud graduate of Towson University, where he earned dual degrees in Music Education and Vocal Performance, along with minors in Music Industry and Theatre Arts. A talented baritone, Mathew was pursuing his Master of Science in Music Education at Towson University at the time of his passing.

While at Towson, Mathew was an active member of several music organizations, including the A Cappella Council, the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA), and the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). He was the founder and music director of Towson University’s competitive a cappella group UNTITLED, where he led the ensemble in arranging, performing, and competing across the region. He was also the founder of Inside Voices, a professional a cappella group dedicated to vocal excellence and performance innovation.

Most recently, Mathew served as Choral Director at North County High School in Anne Arundel County Public Schools, where he built a vibrant and inclusive choral community. He also worked as a music tutor, office assistant, and student intern for Baltimore County Public Schools, all while continuing his musical work as a cantor, music minister, a cappella arranger, and on-air talent at Acaville Radio. His role as a Music tutor and teacher at Music & Arts allowed him to connect even more people with the joy of music.

Mathew’s musical ministry spanned nearly a decade, enriching worship services at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish, Grace United Methodist Church, and Timonium United Methodist Church. From arranging a cappella performances to joyfully caroling each Christmas season, his voice and talent brought joy to many.

Mathew was preceded in death by his loving parents, Colleen Anne Price and Christian David Price.

He is survived by his sisters, Katie Price-Canales (Kevin) of Bushwood, MD; Piper Price of Wisconsin; Krystal Gardner (Jeff) of Parkville, MD; and Shelby Tallent (Shelby) of Seattle, WA; his brother, Geoffrey Westbrook of Bowie, MD; and his cherished niece, Amelia Canales.

He is also survived by his grandparents: Nancy McCoy (Joseph) of Asheboro, NC; Dennis Browne (Kim) of Palm Coast, FL; Bill Price (Karen) of Charlotte Courthouse, VA; and Maria Passarelli Crellin (John) of The Villages, FL.

Mathew is deeply mourned by his aunts and uncles: John Price; Michael Price (Maureen); Diana Price Abell; Stephanie Price Atwood (James); Dawn Bumgarner (Walter); Carolyn Tinsley (Fred); and Joni Sands—as well as numerous cousins, students, colleagues, and friends whose lives were made brighter by his presence.

Family and friends will honor and celebrate Mathew's life at the Evans Life Celebration Home, 8800 Harford Road, Parkville, MD, on Sunday, July 13, 2025, with a Receiving of Friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
