Steven Paul Heitman of Rockland, MI went to be with the Lord on July 5, 2025, with his wife by his side.
Steve was born on September 8, 1948, to Earl and Louene Heitman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After high school, Steve served in the US Army for a brief time before beginning his career as a pipefitter. After retirement, he and his wife purchased the Rockland Depot and spent his remaining years providing to the community.
He was an avid adventurer, enjoying hiking, swimming, camping, metal detecting, and rock hounding. Steve’s passion was creating beautiful jewelry, specializing in sterling silver rings and pendants with cabochons.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife Tina, step-daughter Bobbi (Aaron), Brother Bob, Cousins Becky and Pam, Father and Mother in-law Henry and Sally, brother and sisters-in-law and their families Joy Lynn, Jenny and Dave (Cassandra), Tony and Cindy (Mandy, Max, and Drew) as well as many extended family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Louene Heitman and his special dog, Bella.
The family would like to thank Aspirus- St. Luke’s and the team at North Shore Estates for their care that allowed Steve to return home to Rockland as well as Aspirus Home Care for his continued healing at home. A special thanks to the local community for their prayers, kind words, and support through this difficult time.
Per Steve’s wishes there will be no funeral service. A private graveside burial will be held with close family at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland, Michigan.
