Mrs. Janis G. Jennings, 77, beloved wife of Mr. Johnnie Byron “J.B.” Jennings, entered into rest on Saturday, July 5, 2025. Her mother, Beatrice Richardson Wingard, and her sister, Paula Saxon, preceded her in death.
The family will greet friends on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, beginning at noon at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Aiken, South Carolina 29801, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 o’clock in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Hixon officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, South Carolina.
Pallbearers will be Kameron Clary, Matthew Clary, Landon Leady, Steven Leady, Jonathan James, Scott Askew, and Mike Combs.
Mrs. Jennings was born in Aiken County, South Carolina. She retired from the Savannah River Site after twenty-eight years of service and was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church. Memaw, as she was affectionately known by her grand and great-grandchildren, loved to shop, loved her beauty shop trips, but she especially loved time spent with her family.
Left to cherish Mrs. Janis’ memory, along with her husband, J.B., are their son, Michael J. Jennings; her brother, Johnny Argo (Sheryl); granddaughters and their husbands, Mindy Leady (Steven) and Wendy Clary (Matthew); great-grandchildren, Carmen Leady, Landon Leady, Kameron Clary, and Addison Clary and several nieces and nephews.
